Edible Garden Clifton Hill

A professional couple purchased a period style home in Clifton Hill. The brief was for an edible garden in the front garden and to retain a plant their son had propagated at kindergarten. Espalier apples were trained on to cypress posts with stainless steel wire and straw added to improve the organic content of the soil with red gum retaining walls.

The house contains a modern contemporary pool with a pillar-less glass retractable roof and sliding doors with contemporary metal leaves mounted on the wall that leads of the kitchen. The property next door was purchased, a red brick period home, and joined together with glass.

Random slabs were laid as stepping stones to the garage with red gum sleepers planted out with blueberries.

The spa area off the bedroom was planted out with bamboo to create a tranquil private area.

Blue stone was also laid as a border to the garden beds.

There was a custom made spotted gum box located over the pool filter to hide the pool filter equipment with hinged doors.
